CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor McColgan called the special meeting of the Federal Way City Council to order at
7:32 a.m.
Councilmembers present: Mayor Dean McColgan, Deputy Mayor Linda Kochmar and
Couneilmembers Jeanne Burbidge, Eric Faison, Jim Ferrell and Mike Parle Mayor
McColgan excused Councilmember Jack Dovey.
Also present: State Representatives Skip Priest and Mark Miloscia. State Senator Tracey
Eide was part of the discussion via conference phone.
Staff present: City Manager David Moseley, Assistant City Manager Derek Matheson,
Management Services Director Iwen Wang, Park Planning/Development Manager Betty
Sanders and City Traffic Engineer Rick Perez, Doug Levy and Bob Mack.
II.
2005 LEGISLATIVE AGENDA & LEGISLATIVE ISSUES
The legislators shared information on their top priorities for the 2005 session and how the
city could assist.
Mr. Matheson provided an overview of the city's 2005 legislative agenda.
Various city officials presented information on sales tax streamlining, property tax levy rate
stabilization, transportation, capital budget requests, Puget Sound Regional Council
Executive Board membership, driving while license suspended and economic development.
III.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor McColgan adjourned the special meeting of the Federal Way City Council at the
hour of 8:53 a.m.
