AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, REPEALING THE
INTERIM OFFICIAL ZONING CONTROLS ADOPTED ON
JUNE 7, 2005 (REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBERS 05 -493,
05 -499, AND 05 -513).
WHEREAS, the City of Federal Way adopted interim regulations pursuant to RCW
35A.63.220 on June 7, 2005 in the form of Ordinance Nos. 05 -493 and 05 -499, which restricted
development and uses in a portion of the City's downtown area;
WHEREAS, the Federal Way City Council, in accordance with RCW 35A.63.220, adopted
ordinance 05 -513, which amended some of the restrictions and extended the effective date of the
Official Interim Zoning Controls until permanent City Center Code Amendments could be enacted;
and
WHEREAS, on February 7, 2006 the City Council voted to enact the permanent City Center
Code Amendments, which will replace the Official Interim Zoning Controls;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Repealer. The Federal Way City Council hereby repeals Ordinance Nos. 05 -493,
05 -499 and 05 -513.
Section 2. Severability. The provisions of this ordinance are declared separate and severable.
The invalidity of any clause, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, section, or portion of this ordinance
or the invalidity of the application thereof to any person or circumstance, shall not affect the validity

of the remainder of the ordinance, or the validity of its application to other persons or circumstances.
Section 3. Ratification. Any act consistent with the authority and prior to the effective date
of this ordinance is hereby ratified and affirmed.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be effective five days after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
