HISTORY:
The Human Services Commission is comprised of nine regular members and two alternates. Angelina Allen-Mpyisi,
Human Services Manager; Kelli O'Donnell, CDSG Coordinator; and Dee Dee Catalano, Administrative Assistant, staff this
Commission. The Commission meets on the third Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Hylebos Conference Room.

SUMMARY/BACKGROUND: The Council interviewed applicants to serve on the City's Alis Commission at a Special
Meeting on January 17, 2006. Five applicants were interviewed for five openings. However, one opening was to be
appointed to fill an unexpired term left vacated by the rsignation of Lori Devore, whose term expires on 12/31/06. The
other four positions are full three-year term assignments expiring on I2/31/08.
At the January 17,2006 Regular Meeting, the City Council appointed the five applicants to the City's Arts Commission
but did not specify which appointments were to till the full three-year terms and which appointment would fill the
unexpired term.
Staff is asking for Council clarification via motion as to who fills which position.
'fhose appointed to the Arts Commission were: Susan Honda (new member), Rich McPhail (new Inember), Peggy
LaPorte (returning member), Bette Simpson (returning member) and Maggie Ellis (returning member).
The City Clerks Office will arrange for introduction and presentation of the certificates of appointment forthe new
appointees at the February 21 regular meeting.
