Res 07-508 RESOLUTION NO. 07-508 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, SETTING A DATE OF NOVEMBER 20,2007, TO APPOINT THREE INDIVIDUALS TO THE PRO COMMITTEE AND THREE INDIVIDUALS TO THE CON COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Federal Way, Washington, received notice on September 28, 2007, from King County Elections that the number of valid signatures on the petition to change the form of government was sufficient; and WHEREAS, the City Council set a special election date regarding the change of government; and WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 29A.32.280 the City Council desires to appoint three individuals to the pro committee and three individuals to the con committee to submit written arguments for the Local Voter's Pamphlet regarding the change of government; and WHEREAS, it has been difficult in the past to find individuals willing to serve on such committee even though notice was published in the newspaper and on the City's web site; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens to notify the public well in advance of the date for the selecting the pro and con committee members in an attempt to appoint said committees for the Local Voter's Pamphlet; and Now THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY HEREBY RESOL YES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Date To Appoint Pro Committee for the Local Voter's Pamphlet. City Council hereby sets the date of November 20,2007, for Council to appoint three individuals whom have indicated an interest in serving on the pro committee for the Local Voter's Pamphlet regarding the change of government. Res. #07-508 Page 1 Section 2. Date To Appoint Con Committee for the Local Voter's Pamphlet. City Council hereby sets the date of November 20,2007, for Council to appoint three individuals whom have indicated an interest in serving on the con committee for the Local Voter's Pamphlet regarding the change of government. Section 3. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this resolution should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause, or phrase of this resolution. Section 4. Ratification. Any act consistent with the authority, and prior to the effective date, of the resolution is hereby ratified and affirmed. Section 5. Effective Date.
