RESOLUTION NO. Ok-S/Q
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING
CONTINUITY OF FEDERAL WAY REGIONAL LIBRARY
SERVICES DURING EXPANSION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, King County Library System provides a valuable resource to the Federal Way
Community through the operation ofthe Federal Way Regional Library; and
WHEREAS, and the Federal Way Regional Library will undergo an expansion to better serve
the students of Federal Way Public Schools and the Greater Federal Way Community; and
WHEREAS, and the closure ofthe Federal Way Regional Library for a year or more during
this expansion proj ect will substantially impair the learning environment in the Greater Federal Way
Community and for all our students; and
WHEREAS, the City of Federal Way, the Federal Way School District and sectors ofthe
Federal Way Business Community have offered cooperation in maintaining as many services as
possible available to the students and citizens of Greater Federal Way during construction and
closure; and
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council of Federal Way requests that the King County Library System take
advantage of suggested opportunities and partner with the City, the Federal Way Public School
District, and sectors of the federal Way Business Community to maintain as many services as
possible for the students and citizens of Greater Federal Way during construction and closure of the
Federal Way Regional Library.
