MINUTES
I. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Gates opened the study session of the Federal Way City Council at 5:10 p.m., in Council
Chambers, City Hall, Federal Way, Washington.
City Council present: Mayor Mary Gates, Deputy Mayor Phil Watkins, Councilmembers Ray
Tomlinson, Ron Gintz, Skip Priest, Hope Elder. Councilmernber Bob Stead arrived at 5:50
p.m..
City Staff present: City Manager Ken Nyberg, City Attorney Londi Lindell, City Clerk
Maureen Swaney, Deputy City Clerk Chris Green.
II. BUDGET INITIATIVES
• City Manager Ken Nyberg opened with his comments on the proposed 1995 budget, followed
by presentations from Senior Financial Analyst John Caulfield, Accounting Manager Marie
Mosley and COPP Director Larry Springer. Additional information was provided by
Management Services Director Iwen Wang, Parks Director Jenny Schroder and Human Services
Manager Nita Richardson.
Mayor Gates then invited Councilmembers to direct any inquiries to staff for additional
information or clarification of the presented budget items.
The Council discussed the possibility of rescheduling the September 20 regular meeting to
September 21, which includes the TIP public hearing as an agenda item.
III. ADJOURN
Mayor Gates adjourned the study session of the Federal Way City Council at 6:46 p.m., and
announced the regular meeting will be called to order at 7:00 p.m..
