A. Preliminary Plat of Tuscany – Tuscany is a 22 lot subdivision on a vacant 6.32 acre parcel
located east of 4th Avenue SW as extended, at SW 353rd Street as extended, and north of SW 356th
Street. On September 18, 2001, the Federal Way Hearing Examiner issued a recommendation to
approve the proposed preliminary plat subject to certain conditions. Based upon the Hearing
Examiner’s recommendation, the Committee m/s/c recommendation of approval to the City Council at
its October 16, 2001, meeting.
B. Cottages at Hoyt Road Preliminary Plat – The Cottages at Hoyt Road project is located on an
irregularly shaped 16.4 acre parcel of property abutting the east side of Hoyt Road north of its

hazardous slope of a portion of the property. The Committee voted to forward a recommendation for

to the Hearing Examiner’s recommendation, contingent upon the applicant providing additional
information regarding access to proposed Lot #35 for the Public Works Department review and
recommendation to the City Council. The Council will review and vote on October 16, 2001.
C. Comprehensive Plan Site-Specific Amendments – The Committee discussed six site-specific
requests for amendments to the existing comprehensive plan designations. The Comprehensive Plan
was last amended in September of 2000. There are eight requests, two of which will be addressed in
developer’s agreements (in process). At the meeting, Request #3, a request from Jerry Jackson, was
