Planning Comm MINS 08-15-2001K:\Planning Commission\2001\Meeting Summary 08-15-01.doc City of Federal Way PLANNING COMMISSION Regular Meeting August 15, 2001 City Hall 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers MEETING SUMMARY Commissioners present: Hope Elder Bill Drake, Sophia McNeil, and Dave Osaki. Commissioners absent (excused): John Caulfield, Nesbia Lopes, and Dini Duclos. Staff present: Senior Planner Margaret Clark, Traffic Engineer Rick Perez, and Administrative Assistant E. Tina Piety. Vice-Chair Hope called the meeting to order at 7:03. Vice-Chair Hope announced that due to a lack of a quorum for the Public Hearing, because a commissioner’s flight was cancelled, the Public Hearing on the 2001 Comprehensive Plan Update will not be held tonight. It was m/s/c to continue the Public Hearing to Wednesday, September 19, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. in the City of Federal Way’s Council Chambers. Ms. Piety apologized that the microphones were not working. There was a problem with the sound system that she did not know how to rectify. Therefore, the microphones were not on and the meeting was not taped. APPROVAL OF SUMMARY It was m/s/c to accept the summaries of July 18, 2001, and August 1, 2001, as presented. AUDIENCE COMMENT None. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT Ms. Clark announced that one position on the Planning Commission will expire September 2001; therefore, there are openings for one commissioner and two alternate positions. The City Clerk’s office is now accepting applications. The deadline is September 14, 2001. In addition to the continued Public Hearing, the commission will hold a Public Hearing on the Nonconforming Residential Uses Code Amendment on September 19, 2001. COMMISSION BUSINESS See above.
