MEETING SUMMARY
Commissioners present: John Caulfield and Hope Elder. Commissioners absent (excused): Sophia McNeil
Nesbia Lopes, Bill Drake, Dini Duclos, and Dave Osaki. Staff present: Community Development Services
Director Kathy McClung, and Administrative Assistant E. Tina Piety.
Chair Caulfield called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

COMMISSION BUSINESS
PUBLIC HEARING – 25% Threshold for Frontage Improvements Code Amendment
The Federal Way Chamber of Commerce (who had requested this code amendment) asked for a
month long extension. The City has agreed to honor this request. It was noted that a month long
extension would mean holding the continuation on November 21, 2001, which is the day before
Thanksgiving. The commissioners considered whether to hold a special meeting the week before or
after. In order to give the Chamber a full 30 days, it was decided to hold a Special Meeting on
November 28, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to continue the public hearing.
