A MOTION TO APPROVE THE MAY MINUTES AS WRITTEN. MOTION PASSED. 3. PUBLIC COMMENT Darcy Teague, a teacher from Camelot Elementary, came in to talk about the recent Youth Recognition Night that the Youth Commission had held. She had a student that she had nominated this year. However, the reason why she came was because of her concern of how things went this year compared to last year’s. Last year, there was a greater turnout than this year’s. And she was expecting a more formal event. The commission came up with some suggestions that would help next year’s Youth Recognition Night run smoother. We will try and get approval form the city to send application through the inter-district mail so that applications would reach the teachers faster. Next year, we will contact the families about their child’s recognition. We will also really look at the nomination forms so that we can prepare better speeches for next year. And overall, we plan to make the event more formal and more organized so that dates do not conflict. 4. COMMISSION BUSINESS a. TUNE – This event has already been completed. b.
