CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Ferrell called the Special Meeting to order at the hour of 5:02 pm
City officials in attendance: Mayor Jim Ferrell, Deputy Mayor Jeanne Burbidge, Councilmember Lydia
Assefa- Dawson, Councilmember Kelly Maloney, Councilmember Susan Honda, Councilmember Bob
Celski, Councilmember Martin Moore and Councilmember Dini Duclos.
City staff in attendance: City Attorney Amy Jo Pearsall and City Clerk Stephanie Courtney.
2. COMMISSION INTERVIEWS
Youth Commission Applicants
Parks and Recreation Commission Applicants
Council Discussion
Councilmembers interviewed 11 Youth Commissioner Candidates and 3 Parks and Recreation
Commissioner Candidates.
3. 2015 -2016 BIENNIAL BUDGET
• Council Deliberation /Discussion
Mayor Ferrell called for Council questions and discussion on the proposed 2015 -2016 Biennial
Budget. He clarified items which have been previously requested which have been added to the
budget, including funds for the Branding Initiative and increasing budget in Community Development
for Critical Areas Consultant.
Councilmembers stated they would like to see staffing levels in the Parks Department and Community
Development looked at for potential increases with the addition of new parks and the increase in
building and development in the city. Councilmembers did not have any further comments for the
Special Meeting.
4. EXECUTIVE SESSION
At 6:23 pm Mayor Ferrell announced the Council would recess to Executive Session for the
purpose of discussing Property Acquisition pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(b).

The Mayor and Councilmembers returned to Chambers at 6:55pm.
5. ADJOURNMENT
There being nothing further on the agenda; Mayor Ferrell adjourned the Special meeting at
6:56pm.
