Teen Programs
Schmidt said that handouts/etc. are not okay to pass out at school without approval by proper authorities. There
are no trips or activities scheduled yet. Commissioner Isaiah mentioned he thought Geo-caching might be a fun
program to include. Commissioner Chris would like to have a bingo night.
Hutchinson brought up the need to fundraise for a scholarship program. Schmidt suggested commissioners work
at the general store at this year’s RW&B festival. The budget set aside for the commission could be used to
purchase items to sell at the general store. Commissioner Anastassia suggested a raffle of donated items from
local businesses and organizations. Commissioner Mohammed suggested selling chocolate bars and that he had
done so before and was able to raise a significant profit from doing so. Commissioner Alyssa thought a fun-run
race would be a great way to raise funds. Commissioner Jesse mentioned holding a sports competition.
Hutchinson stated there should be a deadline for the fundraising ideas so that a means could be selected and
implemented.
Anti-bullying
National Day of Silence is held on April 17th. Since this is during spring break and the commissioners will not be at
school they discussed selecting a different day to wear their commission T-shirts with an anti-bullying button to
represent their commitment to the cause. Commissioner Anastassia will look into collecting buttons or other
items for the commissioners to wear.

Jesse asked for clarification on what the roles of each individual would include. Schmidt and Hutchinson explained
that commission meetings will be run by the chair and vice-chair. Schmidt covered basic meeting etiquette,
Robert’s Rules, and discussed how the meetings will be congruent with other commissions in the City.
