PUBLIC COMME
COMMISSION BUSINESS
September Minutes
Chair Erynn motioned to approve October minutes to unanimous approval by all present commissioners.
Sub- committees
Chair Erynn asked the group to be more productive and to improve their communication outside of the monthly
meetings. Commissioner Anastassia informed the group that Menchie's offers weekday evening opportunities for
a "takeover" event. The commissioners would be required to assist in the store for at least three hours and would
receive 10% of gross sales as a result. She will look into potential dates. Commissioner Judy reported she had
contacted several local businesses but did not have any solid leads at that time. Commissioner Judy also relayed a
message from Commissioner Sandra that they could sell See's Candy items and receive a portion of the sales.
Schmidt asked that more details be provided. He suggested that an effort to sell the candy might prove difficult
with such a small amount of time for sales to be processed and orders shipped in time for the holiday.
Commissioner Jillian recommended the group focus on a different holiday such as Valentine's day. Schmidt has
received the check from Panda Express for the fundraiser hosted there.
Adopt -A- Family
Schmidt confirmed that all fundraising efforts will need to be applied to 2016 as there is not enough money to
participate in this program this year.
Teen Program
Schmidt reported the cost of a trip to see holiday lights and ice skate would be approximately $35.00 /person.
With less than a month to promote the trip and advertise, the expectation is low that enough interest could be
generated to make the trip happen. Schmidt will look into hosting the trip solely for commissioners.
Volunteer Opportunities
Schmidt asked for at least six commission members to assist with the Jingle Bell Brunch on December 5`h
Commissioners Chris, Alyssa, Jillian, Anastassia, Robert, Jesse, and alternates Connor and Elizabeth all
volunteered.

Hygeine Kits
Schmidt said the MSC did not have any current needs for volunteers. Collection for the hygiene kits will continue
and the commissioners will discuss further where and how to distribute the kits. Commissioner Anastassia
expressed enthusiasm for continuing this project on their own.
NEW BUSINESS
Commissioner Anastassia connected with Michelle from the FW library system. She suggested partnering with the
library to offer an event or program held at the FWCC. Possible ideas included a book theme night, book signing,
etc. She will provide more details at the next meeting.
