The City of Federal Way's Department of Community and Economic Development received your request
to determine potential restrictions to building a single - family home on parcel #042104 -9064. The site is
located in a residential zone (RS 7.2), and single - family dwelling units are a permitted use pursuant to
Federal Way Revised Code (FWRC) 19.200.010, Detached dwelling unit. The 9,147 square -foot property
measures more than the minimum 7,200 square feet, and is approximately 30 feet wide by 353 feet long.
The City has found no applicable restrictions to developing a single - family home on this property;
however, any development must conform to applicable sections of FWRC such as setback requirements.
For your information, setbacks specific to this zone are 20 feet from the front, 5 feet from each side, and 5
feet from the rear. Additional regulations may be found in the enclosed zone use chart. Additionally, prior
to construction you must obtain a building permit from the City's Building Division. You may contact
