Doors serving rooms or spaces with an occupant
load of 50 or more in a Group A occupancy shall
not be provided with a latch or lock unless it is
panic hardware or fire exit hardware (IBC
1008.1.10). The hardware is required at both
doors leading out of the Group Meeting Room.
Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times. To ensure
- ontinued illumination for a duration of not less than 90
minutes in case of primary power loss, the sign
illumination means shall be connected to an emergency
power system provided from storage batteries, unit
equipment, or an on -site generator. (IBC 1011.5.3).
Exits and exit access doors shall be marked
by an approved exit sign readily visible from
any direction of egress travel (IBC 1011.1).
An exit sign is required at the South door of
the Group Meeting Room.
