Transformer
Based on the Load Report provided by PSE, dated December 18, 2013, the highest peak demand on that
transformer that feeds the 'B' Electrical Room was the summer of 2000. It was 256 KVA, which is 711 amps.
Last year's peak demand was only 165 KVA, and that is the highest it has been since 2008. At 208 volts, that is
457 amps.
Per the National Electrical Code, Article 220.87(2), the maximum 12-month peak demand at 125%, plus the
new load, cannot exceed the ampacity of the service. 457 amps at 125% is 571 amps. Adding 600 amps to the
adjusted peak demand is 1,171 amps.
Electrical Room B is a 3,000-amp service so feeding the (4) tenant spaces in the 'F' area from the 600-amp

switchgear meets code.
