Father's House Church, 30919 Pacific Hwy S, Suite B
The site is located with in the Community Business (BC) zoning district which allows
church uses pursuant to Federal Way Revised Code (FWRC) 19.225.130. Father's House
is proposing to locate in a portion of existing retail space. The Church has a current
congregation size of about 42 people and will have worship hours on Sunday mornings.
The design for the space provides for basic worship services only, with no facilities for
celebratory gatherings, daycare or Sunday school. The existing retail space is not open
for business on evenings or Sundays.
As defined in FWRC 19.05.030, a change of use is determined to have occurred when it
is found that the general character of the operation has been modified. This
determination shall include, but not limited to, review of hours of operation, required
parking, traffic generation, general appearance, outdoor storage, and surface water
runoff discharge.
Based on those criteria, as shown below, the Church use would not constitute a
Change of Use and would, therefore, not be subject to additional land use review.
