MEETING MINUTES
Meeting called to order at 5:11pm.
Present: Reece Binder, Von Born, Jesse Goldstone, Henry Ojeaburu, Hannah Kim, Milad Heydari, Olivia Chong,

Absent: Brittany Rogers, Gaurav Gowda, Gillian Soo, Robert McFarlane (excused)

COMMISSION BUSINESS
February Minutes
Commissioner Jesse motioned to approve the February minutes and was seconded by Commissioner Reece.
Build a Better You (Book Giveaway/STEM Night)
This event has a tentatively scheduled date of Wednesday May 31st and will be held at the library on 1st Avenue.
Commissioner Jesse and his guest, Michele, presented their ideas and are looking for help to organize and run the
event.
The commissioners would like to partner with the library again to offer a “Poetry Slam” event sometime in
October/November.
Commissioner Olivia shared what ALY does and will look for partnership opportunities for the commission.
Commissioner Olivia suggested a Scavenger Hunt activity at the event.

Teen Late Night on March 24th
Police and Fire Basketball Game on March 25th
Parks Appreciation Day on April 22nd
Touch a Truck on May 20th
Red, White & Blues Festival on July 4th
Multi Service Center Donation/hygiene drive Update
Commissioners Milad, Henry, Gillian, Gaurav, and Reece volunteered at the Multi Service Center. The
commissioners passed out food and goods to individuals in need. The commissioners would like to continue to
participate in similar events in the future.
Fundraising Updates
Commissioner Jesse will be applying to the Walmart Foundation for grant money.
NEW BUSINESS
Volunteers from the commission will be needed to prepare for the Build a Better You (Book Giveaway / STEM
Night).
