RE TrusslStrap at Shearwall & Continuous trusses
It is our understanding that some truss framing and shearwall framing will be different than
shown on the plans and the following changes are acceptable:
1. Sheet S2.4: The two N -S drag strut trusses at the roof above the master
bathroomlbedroom between Grid Al and Grid B will be one continuous truss;
therefore no horizontal CS16 strap is required over the bearing wall as shown per
plan.
2. Sheet S2.4: The N -S girder truss at the roof over the upstairs landing/bridge area
will extend fully over the SW2 to the south; therefore no horizontal HTS24 strap is
required. Provide A35 per shearwall schedule from the girder truss to the top plate
of the shearwall.
3. Sheet S2.3: The N -S girder truss between Grid C and Grid D at the south opening
on the second floor is offset from the adjacent SW4. The strap connecting the truss
may be connected to the inside face of the truss and to the outside face of the short
cripple wall above the shearwall. The cripple wall above the SW4 shall be sheathed
and nailed per SW4 in the shearwall schedule.

RE STHD14 Holdown at Garage Southwest Corner
We understand at the STHD14 holdown at the southwest corner of the garage has been
installed improperly. As a fix for this, provide a HDU8 holdown with 7/8" diameter threaded
rod epoxy grout embed 16" into the concrete foundation wall. Special inspection is required
for this epoxy grout application. Refer to Structural general note, Sheet S1.1, item #15 for
specifications for the epoxy adhesive.
