Foundation Footing Inspection
FIELD REPORT
Arrived on site at 2:00pm to observe the general condition of the foundation footing preparation at the owner's request. At
the time of our site visit,we noted that the building footings had been placed and the mobile home had been set of the
concrete block piers. The pad had been prepped by excavating out the back area of the pad and filling the front area of the
pad. The total depth of fill appeared to less than 2 feet. At the City's request compaction testing was done on the fill by
Krazan and Associates. In their field report,dated 6/9/2016 it was noted that the subgrade soils had a relative density of 82%
of Modified Proctor Density. Normally,the minimum relative density for footing areas is on the order of 95 percent. Under
the circumstances, it is our opinion that the required density has been achieved for this project. It is our understanding that
part of the warranty of these homes is that the mobile home will be re-levelled at one year and then again at 5 years. With
the observed placement of fill,the current density reported of the fill,the generally lightly loaded nature of the footing
elements,the overall shallow depth of fill and the opportunity to re-level the structure two more times in the next 5 years
we do not foresee the need to achieve the same level of compaction effort that would be required for a permanent
structure.
As such, based on our site observations it is our opinion that the footing areas have been suitably prepared for the proposed
mobile home and that no further work is required.
