SEGA Engineers has provided structural engineering including lateral loads analysis,
shear wall design, and framing calculations for the subject project. We have been asked
to review an as -built condition where an STHD type embedded holdown strap(s) has not
been installed at the approved location. We recommend adding an HDU5 holdown at
the appropriate location(s). Install the HDU5 with a 5/$" threaded rod embedded a
minimum of 9 inches into the stem wall and set with ET or similar epoxy adhesive.

SEGA Engineers has provided structural engineering including a lateral loads analysis,
shear wall design, and framing calculations for the subject project. We have been asked
to review a field change to the shear wall at the main floor rear elevation where the 129
sliding glass door (SGD) has been replaced with an 846Q window. The specified HDU8
holdowns adjacent to the SGD are now offset about 2 feet from the edge of the window
but this condition is acceptable if shear transfer strapping is added around the window.
Add an LSTA30 to the header and sill at each corner of the window in accordance with
Detail 8/S2.0.
