We have been asked to review two as -built conditions at the foundation / basement level: 1. The retaining wall (11/S2.0) separating the basement from the crawl space was specified to aid in site grading. Where the crawl space is full height, it is acceptable to use a typical footing with a wood framed bearing wall above. 2. The last footing separating the crawl space from the basement is constructed with a 12" diameter sono -tube extending about 42". We recommend that the top of the sono-tude be braced in two directions. Use an angled 2x member faced - nailed to the base of the 4x post and then to the parallel 2x joist above. Second, use an angled 2x member face -nailed to the base of the post and then to the 4x floor girder above. Please address any questions to SEGA Engineers.
