PURPOSE OF LETTER The in purpose of this letter is to address the saw cutting that affected a one post footing at the subject structure. FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS As informed plumbing work necessitate some cutting to the floor slab in certain area of the building. The cutting removed small portion of one of the posts footing. This post is the post located between the"Women Bath"and the"Men Bath". Based on the images provided, it appears that portion of the post footing was affected. It is about five inches and included two steel bars. Therefore corrections are needed. CORRECTION Correction may be made by inserting 3-5/8"bars a distance of 7"inches into the existing footing. Place two bars adjacent to the existing bars and one in the middle. Use Simpson Expansion bolts or High Strength Anchoring Epoxy, Simpson or equal brand. The steel to extend about 5"-6"inches outside of the existing face of concrete. Replace with 3000psi concrete for the same original footing depth. Please coordinate with the project inspector. This is limited to replacing the saw cut footing to its original condition. No involvement in the design or redesign of any portion of the structure. The conclusion ad correction was made based on acceptable engineering standards and practices that are utilized and acceptable to this condition and type of jobs.No warranty implied or expressed is made to the future integrity of the structure.
