Earth (Solutions NW«< April 13, 2016 ES-3243.03 Earth Solutions NW LLC • Geotechnical Engineering • Construction Monitoring • Environmental Sciences Kitts Corner, LLC 10900 Northeast 8th Street, Suite 1200 Bellevue, Washington 98004 Attention: Mr. Tom Smith Subject: Final Report Construction Monitoring and Consulting Services Kitts Corner Apartments 33701 Pacific Highway South Federal Way, Washington Reference: Earth Solutions NW, LLC Geotechnical Engineering Study ES-3243, dated February 25, 2014 Dear Mr. Smith: In accordance with your request, Earth Solutions NW, LLC (ESNW) provided construction monitoring and consulting services at the subject site. We provided the referenced geotechnical engineering study for the project. Our services included providing onsite observations and testing on a part-time basis from November 4, 2014 to September 4, 2015. ESNW representatives made 89 site visits to observe or test building pad fill, building foundation subgrade, Cornerstone wall construction, storm vault backfill, utility trench backfill, pavement subgrade, asphalt pavement, and erosion control. ESNW representatives conducted 216 field density tests in accordance with ASTM Test Designation D2922 (Nuclear Gauge Method). Six representative soil samples were returned to our laboratory for analysis of the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content in accordance with ASTM D1557-02 (Modified Proctor). Density test results indicate adequate compaction of at least a 95 percent at the tested locations of building pad fill, building foundation subgrade, Cornerstone wall backfill, storm vault backfill, utility trench backfill and pavement subgrade. Density test results indicate adequate compaction of at least 92 percent at the tested locations of the asphalt pavement. Wall foundation subgrade was observed to be dense and suitable for wall support. Wall drainage consisted of a 4-inch diameter perforated PVC drain pipe, embedded in clean crushed rock. Wall backfill reinforcement consisted of Synteen SF-55 geogrid installed at design intervals, lengths, and direction. The block wall was constructed in accordance with the project plans and our geotechnical recommendations. ESNW representatives observed pavement subgrade to be dense, stable and suitable for asphalt. ESNW representatives observed erosion control measures to be maintained in general accordance with our recommendations. Based on our observations and testing, the earthwork construction was accomplished in accordance with the project plans and our geotechnical recommendations.
