4 Please adives: the Moment Frame beam, W18x40, has been set per top of beam elev, per specifications,
however do to the acutal depth of the W18, the bottom of the beam impeads approx 4” into the top of the
storefront system, a long grid line B.
We are currently setting trusses to keep on schedule. Please advise how you would like us to correct this
discrepency?

Response:
4 The installed location of the moment frame does not accommodate the 10'-8" top of storefront elevation
denoted on the drawings, thus the moment frame and truss will need to be revised.
Please see attached moment frame modification sketch based on conference call yesterday with Bob Hannan,
AUE, and Callison.
Please note, special inspections will be required for this revision per Structural General Notes.
Contractor shall have the truss manufacturer design the truss modifications.

4 The 2 columns at grid line A and 2.3 and 3.7 are poured in the slab and are 7 1/2" shorter than design.
Attached is a proposed solution for the problem. We propose having the W18x40 noticed and add a bearing
plate that would attach to the top of the column. Then coping the W1 2x22 and have it attach to the W18
instead of the column. If this is acceptable please add any details needed for this connection.
