The following are our responses to the comments pertaining to structural items included in the City of Federal Way
Correction Notice compiled by Bill Zeitler, dated November 4, 2014. For your convenience,the responses below
have been numbered to correspond to the correction number given in the notice referenced above:
4. Per plan note 6 on S2.17.0, posts supporting beams above shall be (2)stud minimum. Post requiring more
than the(2)stud minimum are called out on plan. A clarification note has been added to the drawings.
5. Step indicators were shown to portray the step from the top of plywood sheathing to the top of metal deck.
Steps have been removed because there is no step between the top of the unit floors, and the tops of the
breezeways.
7. Sheet S2.17.1 has been updated with revised framing and detail references.
8. Detail 20/S6.03 has been updated.

9. Details on sheet S6.04 have been updated to identify the maximum acceptable drilling requirements.
10. A note has been added to sheet S2.17.1 to indicate protection requirements at exposed glulams.
20 f.The framing on sheets S2.17.1 and S2.17.2 have been updated to show the extents where double joists
are required. Hatching has been added to better clarify these areas.
The changes in the structural drawings listed above have been incorporated into all other building drawings sets in
order to streamline the review process. We trust that these responses adequately address the issues identified in
