MEETING MINUTES
Commissioner Gaurav called the meeting to order at 5:06pm.
Present: Reece Binder, Henry Ojeaburu, Milad Heydari, Hannah Kim, Gillian Soo, Brittany Rogers, Gaurav Gowda,
Olivia Chong, Justin Filfred, Eden Beyene, Korina Mamaril, Ainsley Yoshizumi

COMMISSION BUSINESS
New Commissioner Introduction
Alternate Ainsley introduced herself to the commissioners.
November Minutes
Commissioner Gaurav motioned to approve the November minutes, seconded by Commissioner Reece. All
commissioners vote in favor to approve minutes.
Teen Night
Commissioners Gaurav, Gillian, Von, & Justin attended the event. The event was well attended with
approximately 80 participants. Commissioner Gaurav would like to see more advertisement for teen night events
in the future. He also recommended adding more multi‐player games for the Nintendo Wii system. Schmidt
agreed to propose having a movie in the pool as a consideration for future dates.
Meeting Frequency
Commissioner Gaurav suggested the possibility of meeting more often than 1x/mo. Schmidt encouraged the
commissioners to form sub‐committees.
FW Cares 4 Kids
Commissioners Henry, Gillian, & Reece volunteered at the event.
Work Plan
Commissioner Milad would like the commission to partner with his school club and participate in an upcoming
color run. Commissioner Korina suggested involving all local high schools for the event.
Commissioner Henry would like to continue holding the book fair and will contact a representative from the
library. Commissioner Gillian suggested combing the book fair with a science fair.
Commissioner Brittany would like the youth commission to hold a walk‐a‐thon. She will work on creating a
proposal with specifics for the event.

Fundraising
Several commissioners will contact local business to find out if they would support or facilitate any fundraising
efforts. Korina will contact Menchies. Gaurav will contact Panera. Olivia will contact Mod Pizza.
Upcoming Events
Commissioner Eden informed the group about a program called MIC, which stands for Motivate – Inspire –
Connect. She asked the other commissioner s to help distribute flyers to raise awareness of the event which will
be held on February 10th.
