Per the builder the concrete contractor installed STHD14 holdowns in lieu of the HDU8s specified on the engineering. As a fix the builder is to install HDU5 holdowns next to the studs of the STHD14s and fasten to the existing double studs. Anchor new HDU5s to existing foundation using an 8" embed with Simpson SET -XP epoxy. Builder is to follow all manufacturer and jurisdictional requirements for epoxy installation including any pre -epoxy special inspections of the hole if required. Item to inspect (if inspection is required): 1. Location 2. Hole size - W 3. Hole depth — 8" minimum 4. Blow out with 80 psi air, nylon brush clean, blow with air again 5. All thread rod is F1554 Grade 36 6. Epoxy is Simpson SET -XP and within expiration date 7. Epoxy mixes in the nozzle to a teal color 6. Concrete temperature is 50 degrees or above at time of application The STHD14 in conjunction with the HDU5 holdowns will have adequate holdown capacity to support the shear walls in question.
