(Terracon) respectfully submits this letter to acknowledge that the requested special inspections have been completed for the above -referenced project.. Terracon conducted inspections for this project from August 21 2013 through September 19, 2013 as described by our Daily Field Report Nos. 1 through 15. These reports, copies of which were previously submitted, form, the basis for this final summary of our inspections. In accordance with Chapter 17 of the International Building Code, Terracon conducted inspections for the following: 1. Cast in Place Concrete Piles; 2. Reinforced Concrete;* 3. Post Installed Anchors. *There are pending 28 day compressive strength breaks for the driveway slab and stairs. The design strength designated for these two areas was achieved at the 7 day milestone. To the best of our knowledge, it is our understanding that the work which was inspected as referenced in our Daily Field Reports was constructed in general conformance with the approved plans, building codes, and changes authorized by the structural engineer. Roegner 29203 V Avenue SW Federal Way, Washington Re: Erasion/Sediment Control Recommendations Proposed Driveway/Slope Restoration SW 292nd Street Water Main Break Federal Way, Washington Terracon Project. B2125019 Dear Mr. Roegner: The purpose of this letter is to provide general recommendations for erosion and sediment control. Terracon Consultants, Inc. (Terracon), has previously prepared a Preliminary Geotechnical Engineering Report for the project (Terracon Project Number B2115043, dated April 6, 2012) and a Geotechnical Design letter (Terracon Project Number B2125019, dated December 4, 2012). Temporary Erosion Control and Sediment Control Measures: Because stripped surfaces and soil stockpiles are typically a source of runoff sediments, they should be given particular attention. We recommend that silt fences, berms, and/or swales be installed around the downslope side of stripped areas and stockpiles in order to capture runoff water and sediment. If foundation excavation occurs during wet weather, all stripped surfaces should be covered with straw to reduce runoff erosion, whereas soil stockpiles should be protected with plastic sheeting. Permanent slopes should be revegetated as soon as possible to minimize erosion. A site specific plan based on the above recommendations should be prepared to minimize the construction impact to the slope and surrounding areas. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions, please contact me. T Paul D. Davis, P.E.
