MEETING MINUTES
Commissioner Henry called the meeting to order at 5:35pm.
Present: Henry Ojeaburu, Milad Heydari, Gillian Soo, Olivia Chong, Justin Filfred, Korina Mamaril, Ainsley
Yoshizumi, Von Born, Reece Binder
Absent: Hannah Kim, Brittany Rogers, Gaurav Gauda, Eden Beyene

OPMA Training
Conducted by Assistant City Attorney, Eric Rhoades
February Minutes
Commissioner Henry motioned to approve the February minutes, seconded by Commissioner Von. All
commissioners vote in favor to approve.
Teen Night
Event will be held on Friday March 23rd from 8-11pm. Commissioners Gillian, Von & Olivia will plan to be there.
Color Run
Commissioner Milad updated the commissioners about the event to be held on Saturday, May 26th. The run may
be moved to Todd Beamer high school. Commissioner Milad will distribute flyers to Schmidt and the other
commissioner to help advertise for the run. The entry cost is $6.00/person and funds will support the WE
organization to help build schools in Kenya.
Racing into Reading
Commissioner Von’s scout troop does not have a race track that can be used for the car derby activity planned at
the event. He will ask other troops for a track. Commissioner Gillian asked the commissioners to help with
securing more book donations. Commissioner Henry reminded everyone present that the commission will be
responsible for food at the event. Schmidt suggested reaching out to local pizza businesses and asking for
donations/discounts.
Touch a Truck
Schmidt will find out what volunteer opportunities are needed from the Arts & Community Events Coordinator.
More information will be shared in the April meeting.
Fundraising
Commissioner Korina will be filling out the required online application form for a Menchies fundraising event. She
will also work with Menchies to provide support for the Racing into Reading event.

ALY
Commissioner Justin informed the commissioners that their ALY projects were closing. Commissioner Henry asked
the Commissioners to contact himself or commissioner Gillian regarding their projects as soon as possible.
