As requested I visited the residence referenced above to determine if file roofing can be installed
an the existing roof system. The existing roof system is pre -manufactured roof trusses over the
majority of the house with a collar tic system above the 2nd floor.
It is my opinion that the existing roof structure is adequate to carry the weight of tile.
When tile is installed the additional weight will cause the structural members to have increased
deflection. This deflection may cause cosmetic cracks to develop in the sheet rock ceilings and
walls. Some hairline cracks exist in the ceiling of the upper level at the collar tie joints. I would
expect that theses cracks would increase in size and length once the tile is installed.
