Box 1997 Tacoma, WA 98401 c/o Jo Pigg, Trust Division RE: CODE ENFORCEMENT CASE NO. 90-0027; 35454 PACIFIC HIGHWAY SOUTH Dear Ms. Pigg: Upon inspection of the above referenced property on April 13, the department has determined that grading activities are being conducted in violation of Federal Way regulations. This grading activity has resulted in removal of approximately 1,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil, and exceeds the tank removal work authorized under Building Permit No. 90-0217. The site is particularly sensitive in that a -regulated stream and associated wetland area lie within or directly adjacent to the contaminated and graded areas. Uncontrolled removal of contaminated soils on the site could result in degradation or permanent damage to these environmentally sensitive surface water resources. At this time, all site grading activities shall be stopped. All graded areas shall be immediately protected from erosion, and appropriate measures shall be taken to protect the adjacent surface water resources from contamination. These interim measures shall be implemented in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the city. Prior to securing the site, an interim surface water protection plan shall be approval by the City. This plan shall than April 30, 1990. In addition, the accompanied by a letter indicating your site. (1) erosion control and submitted for be submitted no later plan shall be intent to secure the 0 so Any subsequent work to restore the site to it's original condition will require approval in accordance with the City's adopted environmental, land surface modification, sensitive area, and uniform building code provisions.
