Mr. Cowan,
Pacific Northwest Engineering Inc. (PNE), as requested, has reviewed the site photos of
the foundation wall that was broken by the excavator on site. Due to the severity of the
break it is recommended that the stem wall and footing that runs on the right side of the
structure (opposite of the garage) shall be saw cut and removed and replaced with a new
concrete stem wall and footing. The new wall and footing where it adjoins to the existing
wall and footing shall be positively attached by doweling the continuous reinforcing bar
into the existing. The (2) two continuous #4 bar in the footing and the top and bottom
bars in the stem wall shall be doweled into the existing a minimum of 6" using Simpson
AT -XP adhesive installed per manufactures guidelines. Please see the existing S-shee
for all details and requirements for the installation of the replacement stem wall d
footing. p#
