Ventana, Lot 25.
SEGA Engineers has provided structural engineering including lateral loads analysis,
shear wall design, and framing calculations for the subject project. We have been asked
to review an as -built change to the approved plans where a wall in the Master Bathroom
has been relocated. The bearing for the 3'/2 x 10.5 GLB in the upper floor framing is now
located at the Bath/Closet wall leaving an approximately 15 inch cantilever and this is
acceptable. The under -floor 4 x 10 girder below this new bearing point will need to be
reinforced. We recommend adding a 1% x 9'/4 LVL face nailed to the 4x with two rows of
16d at 12 inches on center. The reinforcing LVL should span between the two adjacent
footings and be supported with a PT 2 x 4 face -nailed with 16d at 4 inches on center to
the 4x PT post.
