Dear Mr. Motland,
NL Olson and Associates prepared engineering for the building at iiia above referenced
address. The engineeringprepared in July 2012 was deme for a floor beam/post
replacement pr*ot in the basement of the building. I met with you at the site on
November 16, 2012 to discuss installation of the beams and hangers. At that November
meeting, we modified the plan and ganged ttie way some of the hangers were to be
installed for ease of construction.
On November 20, 2012,1 issueda, pian for anew roof beam. in the west end of the upper
floor. A subsequent revision to .the west wallof the upper re= was made to :install a
new window. I checked the effects on the wet exterior shearwall based on the new
window and on Feb 21, 2013, I recommended a couple of options to replace the lost
shearwall capacities. I understand that you have chosen to add shearwall to the inside of
the office area on the south cnd of the west wall. A stamped. sketch of this shearwall
location is attached.
I hope that this letter is useful in finalizing the building permit.
