The past is intended to just reduce the potential for the bar to fall out after it is inserted and isn't required for any other purpose. It can be omitted if you want. I don't want epoxy because I want a weak bond so if there is any tension on the bar it can slip rather than cracking the pool wall. Edward C. When the city reviewed the plans for permit, they approved it, but added a note that we couldn't use epoxy. The cement paste has to set for 72 hrs before we can make the pour, would epoxy be acceptable in this application? If drill/epoxy is acceptable, could you send us a letter we can take to the city so they can approve of the use of epoxy as well? Please let me know!
