1) Window signs are all signs located inside and affixed to a window
and intended to be viewed from the exterior of a structure.
Window signs are used to advertise products, goods or services for
sale on-site, business identification, hours of operation,
address, and emergency information. The area of window signs
shall not exceed 25% of the window area.
2) The existing monument/pole/pedestal sign is considered a legal
nonconforming sign. Refacing of one of the panels or cabinets of
the existing monument/pole/pedestal sign is permitted pursuant to
Federal Way City Code (FWCC) Section 22-335.g4. However, all
legal nonconforming signs shall be immediately removed or modified
to conform with all FWCC signage requirements by February 28, 2000
or when any one or more of the thresholds listed under FWCC
Section 22-335 have been exceeded, whichever comes first.
3) Pursuant to Federal Way City Code Section 22-1603(F), no sign may
contain or utilize the following:
(1) Any exposed incandescent lamp with a wattage in excess of 25
watts; (2) Any exposed incandescent lamp with an internal or
external reflector; (3) Any continuous or sequential flashing
device or operation; (4) Except for electronic changeable message

vegetation.
7) The sign base shall be made of solid materials that are
harmonious with the character of the primary structures on the
subject property and there shall be no visible gap between the
sign base and the finished grade or between the sign face and the
sign base Sec. 22-1602(3)(I).
8) No sign shall project above the roofline of the exposed building

New 76 branded MID signs may be installed as a twin pole or ground mount type sign. The
76 MID has been designed to provide for the driving motorist maximum impact and
readability for the 76 brand logo, pricing panels and ancillary messages.
The preferred design for a stand alone 76 branded MID sign includes a 5'-0" x 5'-0" 76
brand logo module with a 5'-0" x 5'-0" three price module underneath within two light gray
painted poles. This MID sign configuration is shown below.
The 76 MID sign may also be incorporated as a ground mount sign as indicated in the
figure below. This type of sign is allowed where there may be strict local sign ordinances
or permit restrictions. The preferred ground mount sign design has a 5'-0" x 5'-0" 76 logo
on the street side with a 5'-0" x 5'-0" three price module adjacent to the 76 logo on the

76 Snack Shop
The 76 Snack Shop design is intended for buildings where there is a partial sales and
merchandising area in combination with auto service bays. The 76 Snack Shop is also
used on kiosks if underneath a fueling canopy. Consult your Tosco Snack Shop Operations
Manual or contact your Tosco Business Manager for further information.
76 Snack Shop Signs
The Reflex Blue back -illuminated 76 Snack Shop sign is the primary image element. Several
size options are available from Tosco's sign supplier.
(See Appendix for Vendor and ordering information)
Typically, two signs are erected on the building for maximum viewability to the driving
customer.
