Field Observation of Roof Beams in Garage

We are pleased to provide this letter outlining our findings from our engineering visual observation of
the roof beams located in the garage portion of the property at the above-mentioned address.
During a site visit of the property conducted on February 15th, 2019, we observed the following
conditions in the garage:
1) Roof beams consist of two stacked 2x6 beams that span approximately 12 -ft between
supports.
2) Roof beams are spaced at approximately 24 -inches on center.
3) There exists a 4 -inch diameter utility duct that goes through the stacked 2x6 roof beams at a
location close to their supports.
The existing site conditions are shown in the photographs below.

Our conclusion based on a visual assessment of the existing conditions noted above is that the
existing roof beams have adequate capacity to resist the environmental and gravity loads that the roof
structure is required to resist as prescribed by the International Building Code.
This report is based on limited visual observations of structural components. There is no claim, either
stated or implied that all conditions were observed or analytically evaluated. These observations
should not be construed as a quality control inspection, nor shall anything herein be deemed to
relieve the contactor from its obligations under the contract documents and all applicable codes.
