The existing monument/pole/pedestal sign is considered a legal nonconforming sign. Refacing of one of the panels or
cabinets of the existing monument/pole/pedestal sign is permitted pursuant to Federal Way City Code (FWCC) Section
22-335.g.4. However, all legal nonconforming signs shall be immediately removed or modified to conform with all
FWCC signage requirements by February 28, 2000 or when any one or more of the thresholds listed under FWCC
Section 22-335 have been exceeded, whichever comes first.
This permit is issued based on the information provided by the applicant. Since property lines cannot be verified
without a survey, the property owner, his/her heirs or assigns shall assume all liability for any relocation or any other
associated costs should the sign be located in public right of way or within the required yard setback.
The sign base shall be made of solid materials that are harmonious with the character of the primary structures on the
subject property and there shall be no visible gap between the sign base and the finished grade for all monument and
pedestal signs, per FWCC Sec. 22-1602(3)(I).
FINAL SIGN INSPECTION IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO RECEIVE SIGN REGISTRATION NUMBER. PLEASE
CALL 253-661-4140 TO SCHEDULE THE INSPECTION.

We currently have a permit in process SGN99-105 that has not been
approved. We request that you reconsider the fast processing and
funding program for this center IC sign that replaces the old Center
.L Sign that you required us to remove Sometime sago Burin^y our
parking and landscape remodel.
Should you not be able to do ibis, please consider a new permit for a
Center ID sign. We are in urgent need of a Center ID sign, as the
businesses in the buildings along the south of the property do not
have signage readable from the street.
