Mr. Diwan,
We were at the remodel site on July 19, 2012. The home is a single story wood
frame structure with a pre -manufactured wood truss roof. The structure bears on a
shallow concrete foundation.
The building department site inspector, Mr. Fernando Fernandez, requested we
review the 1/2" diameter holes drilled into the bottom chord of the pre -
manufactured wood trusses over the garage. The holes were approximately in the
center of the 2x4 bottom chord, and approximately 10'-0" from the north garage
door. The holes do not have an adverse affect on the truss. The trusses do not
require any repair from the holes.
