OBSERVATIONS 1. The purpose of the visit was to review the size of the existing footings that had been exposed by the construction and to review the soil bearing capacity below the footmgs. 2. 'I'he exposed soil is a very compact, dry, silty clay that had to be broken up with a digging bar prior to the digging with a shovel. The soil will support a minimum of 3000 ib/sq. ft. 3. The existing footings on the east wall is a minimum of 2'-4" wide by 8" deep, an additional footing as shown in section 3 is not required. 4. There is a minimum of a 2'-0" square footing on the east door jamb of the south wall therefore, a new footing is not required at this location. The west footing of the door will be required as shown on the drawings. 5. The footing at the center column (Section 1) was exposed and is ap�roximately 2'-6" wide by 3'- 0" long by 10" deep. After review�ng the column load it is our opin�on that a new 3'-0" x 3'- 0"x 1'-0" footing is not required since the existing footing is adequate to support the design load. 6.
