Cooperative undertaking to enhance ability of cities in SKC to meet affordable housing and homelessness needs in South County
Ensure availability of housing for all income levels in South King County
Based on a model used elsewhere (East King County, Snohomish County, and around the country)
Create new staff capacity and new capital fund to develop a range of strategies to develop new housing and preserve existing housing stock
Complement the efforts of existing public and private organizations to address housing needs in South King County

Staffing Capacity to:
Create new policies (e.g. zoning, permit fee waivers, ADU, etc.)
Create new programs (e.g. preservation strategies, use of public lands, etc.)
Secure new resources – Pursue interest from public and private sources, “work” funding processes, and grant writing
Help South County speak with one voice on affordable housing & homeless issues and for funding
SKC Housing Capital Fund to:
Fund preservation (acquisition and/or rehab) of existing affordable housing
Fund new development – leverage other funds
