Phillips Structural Engineering, PLLC (PSE) as requested has reviewed the condition
where beam SF6 as shown on sheet S-2 of the approved structural drawings (Engineer's
stamp dated 8/15/18)was not installed using a Simpson ECCQ7.1-6SDS2.5.
Beam SF6 was requested to be a Parallam Beam 7x11-7/8" bearing over a 6x6 post
(installed per plan). The width of the beam was used in order to keep the beam depth
within the floor cavity and meet deflection and strength considerations. The cumulative
load over this post is on the order of 52001bs and the ECCQ column cap can be
eliminated provided a positive connection from beams to post is provided. From the
photos provided it appears a light gauge strap approximately 22"long is installed from
the face of beam SF6 to the 6x6 post. Additionally, A35 clips appear to be installed from
the bottom of beam SF6 and SF7 to the face of the post. We find these connections
adequate for the conditions described.

AESI representative Charles Christopher was onsite at the request of the contractor to observe the subgrade for Lot 2 of Bush Lots.
We arrived at 6:00 AM.
Lot 2 Footing 18-102329-00-sf
At the time of arrival,the contractor had removed organic debris from the perimeter footing area,the building corners were staked
and the contractor measured out the distance to the center of footing.The contractor informed AESI that there are no interior
footings only perimeter footings.AESI observed that^1 of fill remained within the slab area and recommended its removal.The
subgrade for the footing had been excavated 2 3' below footing grade,the contractor informed AESI that backfill will consist of 2-4,,
quarry spalls placed in 1' lifts and bucket tamped.
Utilizing a%:"diameter steel soil probe under the full weight of the user,AESI observed the footings and achieved a probe depth of
no more than 2",suitable for 1500 psf in our opinion except for two areas on the East and West footings, measuring the width of the
footing and^4 long where we observed a probe depth of 1'.An additional 1'of material should be removed from these areas,we
identified these areas•
to the contractor.Once this is done and over excavation backfilled with 2 4"spalls,the footing will be suitable
for 1500 psf,in our opinion.
