The Woodlands at Redondo Creek (2)From:Ricardo Kelly To:Permit Center; Becky Chapin Subject:The Woodlands at Redondo Creek Date:Monday, January 6, 2020 7:23:52 AM Attachments:image001.gif image002.gif image003.jpg Good afternoon, Our neighbor received the notification for the proposed land use for The Woodlands at Redondo Creek. We were not notified but he shared the information put in his mailbox. It said to send any comments to the Hearing Examiner but I did not see on the form who that would be. I am definitely for improvement to the Federal Way areas. It is sad to see the trees go away but I understand that is part of development and will take care of the large homeless encampment in that area. The notice did note street and utility improvements will be part of the project. That is my main concern that I hope will be addressed. I purchased my home almost six years ago at 29819 20th Ave. S just up from the water tower. Our home was a flip and was completely updated. We have never had the greatest water pressure so I hope they take that in mind with that many homes going in. My other concern is the lack of sidewalks and lighting along 304th between Pacific Highway and 21st Ave S. Many folks walk along there at night and 95% wear dark clothing so you need to be very cautious when driving at night. With one of the access points going onto 20th Ave S through the land at the water tower, sidewalks need to be integrated into the improvements as people fly around that corner and pedestrian and vehicle accidents are a certainty as I expect many folks will have children that will walk to the elementary school that is being rebuilt. I’ve personally seen near head-on accidents due speeding right where that access point will be. Thank you for taking the time to read this and forwarding to the appropriate staff who will be working with this project. We have enjoyed living in this area as well as many of my colleagues who have moved here from Seattle for a more family-friendly and affordable neighborhood. We hope the impact of the infrastructure will be taking into consideration in all aspects of this project.
