SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
Remote Meeting
September 10, 2020
1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Ferrell called the meeting held remotely to order at 5:01 p.m.
City officials in attendance: Mayor Jim Ferrell, Council President Susan Honda, Councilmember Lydia
Assefa-Dawson, Councilmember Greg Baruso, Councilmember Hoang Tran, Councilmember Martin
Moore, and Councilmember Linda Kochmar.
City staff in attendance: City Attorney Ryan Call and City Clerk Stephanie Courtney.
2. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Potential Litigation Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)
At 5:02 p.m. Mayor Ferrell announced the Council would adjourn to Executive Session for the purpose
of discussing Potential Litigation pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i). He noted executive session would
take approximately 30 minutes.
3. CITY COUNCIL POSITION 5
Mayor Ferrell reconvened the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.
The City Council heard from 23 council applicants who applied to fill the City Council Position 5
vacancy.
No citizen comment was provided.
Mayor Ferrell and Council President Honda thanked the applicants who took time to connect to
the meeting tonight. No action was taken at this meeting and it is anticipated Council will narrow
the field of candidates at their next regular meeting prior to setting final interviews.
