A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Federal Way,
Washington, authorizing staff to close the Municipal Court Jury Fund
Bank Account at Key Bank and to replace it by opening a new Key Bank
Municipal Court Jury Fund Bank Account.
WHEREAS, Establishment of Municipal Court Jury/Witness Fee Checking Account, was
approved by FEDRAC council committee on September 23, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the Established Municipal Court Jury Fund Bank Account has been
compromised; and
WHEREAS,we want to close the compromised Jury Fund Bank Account and replace it with
a newly established Key Bank account;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FEDERAL WAY,
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. On September 23, 2008 Finance / Economic Development / Regional Affairs
Committee recommended Establishing Municipal Court/ Jury Fund Checking account; and Jury
Fund bank account was established.
Section 2. Due to fraudulent activities involving the City of Federal Way Municipal Court
Jury Fund, Staff is directed to close the account and to establish a new Jury Fund account under the
current Key Bank agreement. Authorized signers are to remain the same.
Section 3.Severability.If any section,sentence,clause or phrase of this resolution should be
held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence,
clause, or phrase of this resolution.

Section 4. Corrections. The City Clerk and the codifiers of this resolution are authorized to
make necessary corrections to this resolution including, but not limited to, the correction of
scrivener/clerical errors, references, resolution numbering, section/subsection numbers and any
references thereto.
Section 5.Ratification.Any act consistent with the authority and prior to the effective date of
this resolution is hereby ratified and affirmed.
Section 6.Effective Date.This resolution shall be effective immediately upon passage by the
Federal Way City Council.
