2021-2022 Budget Study Session
Remote Meeting
October 27, 2020 — 6:00 p.m.
1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Ferrell called the meeting held remotely to order at 6:00 p.m.
City officials in attendance: Mayor Jim Ferrell, Council President Susan Honda, Councilmember Lydia
Assefa-Dawson, Councilmember Greg Baruso, Councilmember Hoang Tran, Councilmember
Leandra Craft, Councilmember Martin Moore, and Councilmember Linda Kochmar.
City staff in attendance: City Attorney Ryan Call and City Clerk Stephanie Courtney.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Ferrell led the flag salute.
3. PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment was received.
4. CITY COUNCIL BUDGET DELIBERATIONS
City Council discussed options and possible amendments to the proposed budget.
Discussion included questions to the City Directors regarding a Planner position in the Community
Development Department; the study and project to site and build a Parks and Public Works Joint
Maintenance Facility; the newly created and current Public Works Maintenance Worker I positions
(who handle litter pick-up throughout the city); and the proposed COLA's (cost of living adjustment) for
non -represented staff.
5. ADJOURNMENT
There being nothing further on the agenda; the regular meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
