2021-2022 Biennial Budget Study Session
Remote Meeting
October 20, 2020 — 5:00 p.m.
1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Mayor Ferrell called the meeting held remotely to order at 5:03 p.m.
City officials in attendance: Mayor Jim Ferrell, Council President Susan Honda, Councilmember Lydia
Assefa-Dawson, Councilmember Greg Baruso, Councilmember Hoang Tran, Councilmember
Leandra Craft, Councilmember Martin Moore, and Councilmember Linda Kochmar.
City staff in attendance: City Attorney Ryan Call and City Clerk Stephanie Courtney.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Ferrell led the flag salute.
3. PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment was received.
4. CITY COUNCIL BUDGET DELIBERATIONS
Council asked clarifying questions of staff. Councilmembers noted their preference for new positions
which are not currently included in the proposed budget.
5. EXECUTIVE SESSION
At 6:03 p.m. Mayor Ferrell announced the Council would recess into Executive Session for the
purpose of discussing:
• Potential Litigation pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)
• Collective Bargaining pursuant to RCW 42.30.140(4)(b)
Anticipated time in Executive Session is 27 minutes.
6. ADJOURNMENT
There being nothing further to come before the City Council, the meeting was adjourned at 6:30
p.m.
