Community Programs • $200,000 Establish Community Stakeholders group to coordinate policy and services response for people experiencing homelessness. Staffing for two years of implementing the program. Year 1-$100,000 / Year 2-$100,000. • $100,000 Reintroduce resource center for youth in Federal Way similar to the REACH Center. • $100,000 Reintroduce Youth Substance Abuse Program. • $80,000 Reintroduce staff position to oversee youth violence prevention efforts. Transportation • $50m City Center Access to improve downtown access to and across I-5 including 320th interchange & transit access. • $5m Pedestrian, bicycle circulation and traffic capacity in downtown Federal Way, 314th. • $20m for widening of S 356th for better access to ST Link and Highway 18 from Browns Point and Federal Way. • $20m Collaborate with 27th District for widening of SW 336th Way and SW 340th St Corridor for better access from points west. COVID-19 Business Support • Expansion of State-wide business grants due to COVID restrictions for businesses and restaurants. • Support for landlords affected by the eviction moratorium for both residential and business leases. COVID-19 Humanitarian Relief • Expansion of State-wide support for food security, rent support, transitional housing and the extension of the eviction moratorium. Education • Support the Federal Way Public Schools Legislative Agenda. • Support additional funding for Highline/UW University Initiative. Veterans • Funding for Veterans Monument to 501c3 (State, Federal, & local asks). E Pluribus Unum — “Out of Many, One.” (Motto of the USA) • We will look for legislative opportunities to bring our communities together in ways to enhance social equity, social justice and increased economic opportunities for our BIPOC communities. Aircraft Issues • Fund the third phase of the University of Washington study on ultra-fine particles (UFP’s) that would examine their health impacts. • Support any local, state and federal initiatives to ensure the health and safety or citizens from aircraft noise and emissions.
