Background
Towards the beginning of every year, the
City Council approves the Planning
Commission Work Program
The role of the Planning Commission is to
make recommendations to the LUTC and
City Council regarding :
Comprehensive Plan Amendments
Amendments to the Text of the Zoning
Code

Long Range Staff Work Program
Comprehensive Plan Amendments
Annual
Major (Every eight years)
Code Amendments
Monitoring and Reporting Development
Activity ( Not part of the Planning
Commission Work Program)
Responding to the public on planning
related questions

Staffing Levels
Long range planning staff comprised of 1 . 5 FTE's
Current planning staff comprised of 3. 5 FTE's
An additional 1/2 FTE current planning staff shifted
to Long Range to work on Critical Areas
Regulations Update through June 2015
In 2015, current planning Staff will assist Long
Range as time permits
